THE FAMILY BOOK by TODD PARR Parr, T. (2003). The family Book. ( T. Parr, Illus.). New York: Little Brown.
The family Book - one of a series by this author - celebrates a diverse array of family groups through whimsical illustrations and neon colours. A variety of families are represented in a fun and animated way. Some families depicted include: stepmums, stepdads, stepsisters and brothers, one parent families, adopted children, families with two mums or two dads. Interspersed with the different families are the special days celebrated in a family, the sadness a loss of a loved one brings. Messy families, clean families and relatives who look like their pets have all been included. This book is a fun way of introducing children to diverse family units.
