FAMILIES ARE DIFFERENT

FAMILIES ARE DIFFERENT
by
NINA PELLEGRINI

Pellegrini, N. (1991). Families Are Different. (V. Cohen, Illu.). New York: Holiday House.

Nina Pellegrini wrote this book through the eyes of her child, who was adopted from Korea. Told in the voice of her daughter Nico, the concerns of adopted children and their parents are expressed. The book features a multiracial mix of both traditional and nontraditional groupings. Single and adoptive parents, grandparent guardians, and step relatives all receive equal attention. This book conveys a strong message of the need for accepting differences among families. This book also exhibits a positive perspective towards multi-ethnic families.
